Come and join us to learn how to make beautiful, handmade paper out of your paper waste. Bring some leaves, flower petals, or wildflower seeds from your garden to include in your specialized paper. Make it for yourself or for a special mother in your life. Ages 12+ can work independently. Younger participants should have an adult to help them.

Jess Elwell is a qualified art teacher and nature enthusiast who has developed a passion for creating pieces that are focused on enriching the environment. Through her work she brings her love of nature and the arts together. Jess’s passion for papermaking developed in university where she completed a degree in fine art. She now makes 100% biodegradable hand made paper cards with dried and pressed flowers and teaches papermaking workshops.

Jess is excited to work with you and to share her knowledge of:

Recycling paper waste to make new paper

Experimenting with different methods of colouring the paper

Adding plants and vegetation to create unique paper features

Pulping and preparing the materials

Making and drying paper sheets

Please note: Paper takes 2 to 3 days to dry.  Participants will be able to take the paper they make home; however, it will be wet and will need careful handling. Card and sheets will be provided for paper transportation.
