Summer Positions
These positions are subject to funding from Canada Summer Jobs. To be eligible, youth must:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Visitor Information Counsellors provide information to visitors on attractions, events, businesses, and activities in the region; help with the collection of statistical information on tourists in the region; promote environmental responsibility by visitors; and contribute to our database of heritage and community information.

The Events Assistant will support the Programs Manager in offering events and programs for community members and visitors. Events at the Sooke Region Museum & Visitor Centre aim to provide opportunities for people to share local cultural and natural heritage while connecting people to this place and each other, building a sense of pride among community members and providing a sense of place for tourists.

Call for Instructors – 2025 Workshops
The Sooke Region Museum & Visitor Centre is seeking an individual, or group, to offer workshops at the museum with instruction on creating and/or repairing, upcycling, embellishing textiles and garments.

– information about the instructor(s)
– materials and/or equipment required
– participants: workshop capacity, age, skills/experience
– time: workshop duration, number of sessions. Note: we prefer weekend or evening workshops for maximum accessibility.
– cost: instructor fees, materials/supplies cost
– facility requirements (water, access to outside, tables, etc.)
