The Sooke Region Museum & Visitor Centre is seeking summer season staff as Visitor Information Counsellors for the Sooke Visitor Centre, located at the Sooke Region Museum. In addition to the main duties, like all team members, Visitor Information Counsellors will assist with daily museum operations, support programs, and may support marketing & communications.
Events Assistant
Full time, summer, 1 position (weekend and evening work required)

This position will support the Programs Manager in offering events and programs for community members and visitors. Events at the Sooke Region Museum & Visitor Centre aim to provide opportunities for people to share local cultural and natural heritage while connecting people to this place and each other, building a sense of pride among community members and providing a sense of place for tourists.
Programs Assistant

Workshops – textiles, fibre
The Sooke Region Museum & Visitor Centre is seeking an individual, or group, to offer workshops at the museum with instruction on creating and/or repairing, upcycling, embellishing textiles and garments.

– materials and/or equipment required
– participants: workshop capacity, age, skills/experience
– time: workshop duration, number of sessions. Note: we prefer weekend or evening workshops for maximum accessibility.
– cost: instructor fees, materials/supplies cost
– facility requirements (water, access to outside, tables, etc.)
